Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif: Birth & Upbringing
Born on November 4, 1983, Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif is the son of Saud bin Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Emir of the Eastern Province. He is married with four kids. After completing his education at Dhahran Ahliyya Schools, he attended King Saud University to study law.
He received the title of Saudi Arabia’s youngest interior minister in June 2017, taking over from his uncle, Prince Mohammed bin Naif, who also relinquished his crown prince duties. Since King Salman bin Abdulaziz took the throne in 2015, he has served in many capacities throughout the nation.

His Tasks & Responsibilities
Following graduation, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif spent several years working in the private sector before joining the scientific committee of the Naif bin Abdulaziz Award for the Prophet’s Sunnah and the Supreme Committee of the award, which emerged at the late Prince Naif’s request.
Previously, he received responsibility for handling numerous security-related issues across the country and was not prominent in the Kingdom.
Prince Naif, who had been actively pursuing Al-Qaeda militants in the Arabian Peninsula, was well-known for his dedication to security in Saudi Arabia. In 2006, he opened the Mohammed bin Naif Centre for Counselling and Care, where he coupled security prosecution with intellectual rehabilitation for those who professed repentance.

His Work in the State
Following the accession of King Salman bin Abdulaziz in 2015, Abdulaziz served in various high-level roles. He worked at the Rights Department for a while after receiving an appointment as an advisor to the Royal Court. In addition to the Advisors Unit, he later transferred to the Systems Department and finally to the General Directorate of Borders at the Royal Court.
Later, he spent six months working in the Political Division. Later on, he worked at the Office of the Minister of Defence as an advisor. In May 2016, a royal decree came into effect designating Abdulaziz bin Naif as the Interior Minister’s advisor.
His uncle, Prince Mohammed bin Naif, who had served in that capacity since 2012 and was relieved of his responsibilities and the Crown Prince title, was replaced on June 21, 2017, by Abdulaziz bin Naif, who became the youngest Interior Minister in the Kingdom’s history.
