KSA has made great strides in e-learning thanks to the Saudi Electronic University, promoting Vision 2030 and raises educational standards.

In line with the Kingdom’s swift growth in every area, including education, which forms the basis of this progress, e-learning in Saudi Arabia has seen the anticipated improvement in quality at the local level.

Therefore, the Saudi Electronic University (SEU) has risen to prominence as a centre for digital education, helping to realise Vision 2030 and elevate the educational landscape.

One of the best public colleges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Electronic University, has set a new benchmark for higher education centred on information and communications technology.

A Blend of Tradition & Innovation

Students have more freedom in studying and skill development because of the university’s cutting-edge e-learning and blended learning environment, which combines in-person instruction with technology-based communication. In keeping with its view that education is a constant and renewable process, the university grants undergraduate and graduate degrees and provides programmes in continuous and lifelong learning.

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud issued a royal decree in 2011 creating the university as a public educational institution that would support the Kingdom’s advancement of higher education and the growth of the idea of ongoing learning.

To transfer top academic and technical practices, the university’s educational system emerged in partnership with several esteemed international universities. In order to address the demands of the labour market for skilled domestic talent, the institution aims to realise its vision of creating a knowledge-based economy and society. Additionally, it seeks to be a house of excellence in its specialities and a national representation.

In February 2019, the Saudi Commission for Health Specialities accredited the College of Health Sciences for its Bachelor of Science in Public Health programme, marking a major milestone for the university. This reflects the quality of its academic programmes and its commitment to high professional standards.

The university’s branches are dispersed throughout the Kingdom to serve students in different places, such as Riyadh, Dammam, Jeddah, Medina, Qassim, Abha, Tabuk, Jazan, Al-Ahsa, Hail, Najran, Jubail, Yanbu, and Al-Ula.

Specialised Colleges Within the University

Various specialised colleges are also part of the Saudi Electronic University, such as the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences, which has departments for business administration, accounting, finance, and e-commerce; the College of Computing and Informatics, which has information technology, computer science, and data science specialisations; the College of Health Sciences, which has public health and health informatics specialisations; and the College of Science and Theoretical Studies, which offers courses in digital media, law, English language and translation, humanities, and basic sciences, and an Arabic language instruction programme for non-native speakers.

At the university, public relations and the media are highly valued. Public Relations’ Media Department oversees and produces the university’s electronic newspaper. When the journal was first published under the name “Jisr,” it helped to improve the university’s reputation and create a media identity that reflected its growth and academic accomplishments.

According to the Times Higher Education World University Rankings for 2024, the university ranks first locally and 33rd globally for educational quality, highlighting its significant impact on the completion of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. This achievement demonstrates the university’s commitment to excellence and high standards in research, education, and community involvement.
