A group of Saudi inventors received gold and silver prizes at the 2026 International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva.

A group of Saudi inventors accomplished an incredible feat at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, 2026, winning gold and silver awards for their excellent creations that drew global attention.

Highlights of Saudi Achievements at the Geneva Exhibition

Al-Jawhara Saud Al-Qahtani, a young Saudi, became the first Saudi to receive the Grand Prize for Public Education at the 2026 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions. Al-Qahtani accomplished this milestone in addition to receiving a gold medal with honours for her PulMind platform, which employs gene editing and artificial intelligence to improve clinical decision-making for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disorders, and the Grand Prize in the 15–18 age group.

Sari Al-Qahtani, a young Saudi, won a gold medal and the Grand Prize in the 12–15 age group for his Saudi Smart Quest robotic exploration system project, for which he was granted a patent. The Tuwaiq Academy, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Misk Schools, and the Technical Schools for Gifted Students, declared this triumph at the 2026 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in Geneva, Switzerland.

Thousands of innovators from all over the world come together for the exhibition to present their most recent concepts and cutting-edge innovations for the good of society in a variety of fields.

As part of the Kingdom’s delegation at the 51st Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in Switzerland, Taibah University also earned international scientific recognition, taking home two gold and one silver award. These honours were given to a several cutting-edge research projects created by university employees and faculty.

The gold medal with honours went to the development of a novel vaccine that uses DNA technology to combat dengue disease. Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud and student Khulood Al-Otaibi, along with Dr. Al-Muhand Al-Kayyal from the University of Tabuk, presented this invention. The development of a modified virus (VSV) to eradicate tumours was also awarded a gold medal. Researchers from the University of Tabuk, comprising Drs. Ahmed Mahmoud and Al-Muhand Al-Kayyal created this invention.
