The Armenian President welcome H.E. Dr. Ahmed Al Jarwan

President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan visits Armenia, supporting and spreading tolerance and Peace around the world.

President of the Republic of Armenia Armin Sarkisian received HE Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, at the Presidential Palace in Yerevan on 17th of June 2018.
Al-Jarwan briefed the Armenian President on the latest activities of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP). He also presented the Council’s programs to spread the values of tolerance around the world from the parliamentary, educational, academic and media perspectives.
The Armenian president praised the role of the Council and its president for these great achievements in a short period of time. He affirmed his support to the Council’s goals for the benefit of the whole world. On his part, Al-Jarwan praised the Armenia’s role in spreading the international peace, the values of peaceful coexistence, tolerance and peace.
On the other hand, Al-Jarwan was received by the Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan. Al-Jarwan invited the Armenian National Assembly, by nominating a one of its members, to join the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace.
Al-Jarwan presented to Mirzoyan Council and its responsibilities and objectives for spreading tolerance and peace around the world.
The Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly praised the role of the Council and its achievements in spreading the values of tolerance and supporting peace around the world, stressing its support for the Council and its international parliament.

From academic perspective, Al-Jarwan visited the University of Yerevan due to the role that education plays in building peacekeepers and changemakers. Al-Jarwan invited the University of Yerevan, though its professors to join many international universities and participate in the first of its kind academic conference, organized by the Council, entitled “Academic trends in higher education for tolerance” that will be held in October and hosted by the university of Malta in Valetta, Malta,

It is good to note that The International Council for Tolerance and Peace will hold its third session in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the presence of parliamentarians from all around the world to discuss ways to raise the values of tolerance and peace and to complement the role of parliamentarians in cultivating peace in the world through their legislative and regulatory responsibilities.
