“Green Homes”: Transforming Mecca’s Living Spaces

The Holy Capital Municipality established the “Green Homes” competition to enhance the urban landscape and increase awareness of green areas. The competition’s goal is to encourage Mecca inhabitants to grow plants in their homes and make residential spaces more beautiful and alive.

Three Types of Home-Based Talent Discovery

To give different types of homes and spaces a chance to benefit from the initiative, the Holy Capital Municipality has established three primary competition categories. The first category is for the best indoor plant arrangement, which emphasises the use of plants in interior spaces to combine beauty and organisation while incorporating natural elements into the design.

The second category is devoted to the best garden arrangement in courtyards and on rooftops, spaces that can be converted into small home gardens, adding an aesthetic touch and providing a more comfortable environment for residents. The third category is for the best garden arrangement on a house’s facade, which aims to draw attention to the exterior appearance of buildings and improve the overall landscape of residential neighbourhoods.
