The British Lebanese Association held their annual Gala Dinner at the Dorchester Hotel

The British Lebanese Association held its bi-annual fundraising Gala Dinner on the evening of 4th June 2018 in the Ballroom at the Dorchester Hotel, London.

Guest of honour was the actor and humanitarian Selma Hayek and to add to the glamour of the evening entertainment was courtesy Guy Manoukian and Alin Lahoud.

The evening opened with a welcome speech from the Association’s chairman sir David Richmond followed by an impromptu speech from the Lebanese ambassador setting the mood for an enjoyable evening. Lisa Zakhem chair of the Fundraising and Events Committee spoke thanking her committee for all its hard work and in the audience Bob and Tamar Manoukian and Ramzi and Dalia Rishani, long time friends and supporters of the British Lebanese Association and the night’s joint sponsors.

And then Baria Alamuddin the international journalist welcomed Selma Hayek up on to the stage and for the next 30 minutes they talked about Hayek’s love for Lebanon, her humanitarian work and even how to keep her husband!

The auction followed and twelve lots generously given were generously competed for as was the call for pledges that followed the auction.

The night’s main business completed the audience turned to less weighty matters and danced beyond mid-night to the wonderful, music of Guy Manoukian and Alin Lahoud performing together for the first time.
