Turki Al-Sheikh signs agreements in London supporting the entertainment sector in Saudi Arabia

The chairman of Saudi Arabian General Entertainment Authority (GEA) Turki Al-Sheikh has signed a raft of deals with British firms in a bid to boost the kingdom’s recreation sector over the coming period.

The contracts, signed  in London, aim to diversify the GCC nation’s entertainment offering by attracting different recreation categories, comprising touring theme parks, outdoor cinemas, and live performances, according to an official statement.

The deals included a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ‘Flying Music’ to organise a number of international theatre shows in Saudi Arabia such as ‘Thriller’.

The chairman of state-run GEA also penned two agreements with the magician ‘Dynamo’ and ‘The Works’ to organise the famous show ‘The Illusionist’.‘Luna Cinema’ also will organise several shows for open-air cinema in the kingdom, while Ramadan tents will be carried out by ‘Design Lab Experience’, the statement added.

The UK-based ‘1001 Inventions’ will organise touring educational exhibitions, ‘TeamPartner Three’ company will present two state-of-the-art theatres and train Saudi teams, and ‘Police Academy’ nods to organise interactive shows in a dedicated area.

The Saudi armed forces members will participate in the ‘Soldiers Challenge” show which will be presented by ‘Ultimate Soldier Challenge’, while ‘Ferrari Festival’ firm will provide an interactive public parade with a showcasing of Ferrari vehicles.

‘Mellors Group’ will make the shows in touring theme parks and operate them, ‘DOTA2’ is to present a festival for the well-known game, and the UK’s biggest gaming festival Insomnia ‘Insomnia’ will to organise a big video game show in Saudi Arabia.

Moreover, IMG will provide the show of ‘The Color Run’ race. Al- Sheikh also signed a deal with ‘Merlin Entertainment’ which owns the famous ‘Madame Tussauds’ wax museums.

The Saudi companies, ‘Durrat Al Arus’ and ‘Durrat Arriyadh’ will allow using their facilities for all these coming events.
