FIFA monthly national team rankings for February place Saudi Arabia 55th, the first national football team made great strides, as reported by the Belgian national team.

The team moved up 20 places from where they were in January, when they were 75th with 571 points. It also achieved the most amount of points gained among foreign teams, as per the FIFA website.

The Saudi squad surged to third position in Asia, trailing only Iran (44th internationally) and South Korea (53rd), allowing them to leapfrog major teams led by Japan (58th), the United Arab Emirates (65th), and Australia (68th).

Diligent Work

The Saudi football team did well because its organizers worked hard and committed. They made the sport famous around the world for a long time.

The Saudi teams are now being trained by great coaches and other players, particularly from the Roshn League, which has grown to be one of the greatest leagues in the world and has drawn significant football talents from all over the world, like the Portuguese Cristiano Ronald and the Frenchman Karim Benzema.

The Team’s accomplishment of a distinguished ranking in the classification attests to the tremendous support Saudi sports receive from the administration of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, as well as the strong backing of the sports community and the important role that clubs play in helping the various national teams advance the game of football.

The Goal 2034

Undoubtedly, the team’s recent advancement and placement in this category are not the end; merely they are a step towards correcting the team’s trajectory and elevating Saudi football back to the top of the continent. Rather, it is announcing the lofty objective that Saudi football’s governing body established, which is to host the World Cup in 2034.

This will serve as evidence that Saudi Arabia is taking a bold and determined step towards becoming a global leader in politics, economy, sports, and the arts. It is also in line with the objectives and plans outlined in the 2030 plan, which His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman first laid the groundwork for.

FIFA Numbers

The Saudi national team has risen 71 spots to attain the 55th position in the world today, compared to its previous ranking of 126th in 2012.

The youth and junior teams earned spots in the Asian championships, which will take place in Bahrain and India, respectively.

Ahead of reputable clubs in Europe and Latin America, the Roshn Professional Football League had the 17th position among the world’s main leagues.

In the double set of qualifications for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Nations Cup, the first team to achieve the feat tops its group.
