Qiddiya Investment Company has launched the world’s first multi-use Saudi gaming and e-sports zone within Qiddiya.
The space, which is more than 500,000 square metres, has four arenas that are built to the highest standards. Plus, they are used to hold the annual electronic gaming industry’s most prestigious international events.
There are 73,000 seats available for spectators in the area. One of the arenas has a 5,300-seat stadium, making it one of the three biggest e-sports stadiums in the world. This stadium stands out from other e-sports venues across the globe thanks to its enormous indoor LED screen.
Along with offering excellent living, working, and recreational spaces, the area also features high-end residences and hotel rooms designed to complement the local character.
According to Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Daoud, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company: “Qiddiya’s gaming and e-sports area is a global destination for e-sports; it will host the most prominent global events in this sector and will enhance the growth and prosperity of the e-sports industry in the Kingdom and the region.”
Al-Daoud added: “The gaming and e-sports zone in Qiddiya will play a major role in achieving the national gaming and e-sports strategy goals’, which aims to make the Kingdom a global centre for gaming and e-sports by 2030.”
The goal of Qiddiya’s gaming and e-sports area is to draw up to 10 million visitors a year. From gamers and enthusiasts all over the world.
The Qiddiya Area’s Significance for E-Sports and Gaming
The Qiddiya Gaming and E-Sports Zone contributes significantly to the development of the KSA’s e-sports sector. By a variety of means, including:
- Attracting foreign investments in the e-sports sector.
- Promoting the growth and prosperity of the Kingdom’s and the region’s e-sports industries.
- Creating job opportunities in the field of e-sports for Saudi youth.
As part of the National Gaming and E-Sports Strategy, the Qiddiya Gaming and E-Sports Zone helps to realise the goal of making the Kingdom a global hub for gaming and e-sports by 2030.
