Event Details

The 5th edition of the International Translation Forum 2025 began at the King Fahd Cultural Centre in Riyadh, making the city a hub of linguistic and cultural exchange. The three-day event, which took place from November 6 to 8, brought together over seventy experts and lecturers from twenty-two countries, as well as over thirty Saudi and international groups.

Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, the Commission's chief executive officer, emphasised that the forum is an open space for professionals to have conversations that increase mutual understanding and cross-linguistic cooperation. He stressed that translation is essential to increasing international understanding and idea sharing. The goal of this year's edition is to make Riyadh's forum a worldwide gathering place for academics and translators, fostering the expansion of the translation industry and increasing its contribution to the production of global knowledge. The panels and seminars centre on real-world issues, new technologies, and how translators' roles are changing in the era of digital communication. The International Translation Forum 2025 supports Saudi Arabia's goal of developing intellectual and cultural engagement on a global scale by bringing together professionals from several continents. In an increasingly interconnected world, the meeting continues to stress translation as a crucial facilitator of international understanding and intellectual growth. Meanwhile, machines cannot identify and correct errors in the source material, the translation sector remains vital. Unlike typographical and spelling faults, software and algorithms convert the source text linguistically into the target language without detecting any errors at all. This includes inconsistent and erroneous information that can only be understood by a human translator, as well as lexical and semantic issues. Read more: Global Airports Forum (GAF), 2025
