Riyadh's parks are renowned for their well-planned layout, thoughtful use of green spaces, and placement of entertainment and leisure areas.

Over the last three years, the Riyadh Municipality has opened 87 new parks, increasing the overall number of parks in the city from 615 to over 700. This action demonstrates the municipality’s dedication to improving the standard of living and accomplishing Saudi Vision 2030‘s objectives to expand green areas nationwide.

Besides that, Riyadh’s parks stand out for their carefully thought-out design, meticulous placement of green spaces, and entertainment and recreational amenities. We’ll examine the most stunning parks in Riyadh in more detail in this post.

The Benefits of Riyadh’s Parks to the Capital

Riyadh’s parks, covering over 745,000 square metres, are planted with 7,000 trees and 25,000 plants to provide equitable access to amenities across all neighbourhoods. By offering a range of leisure, cultural, social, and athletic activities, these parks have also developed into thriving community hubs.

In addition to providing leisure opportunities for locals, Riyadh’s parks also serve as social hubs. The Riyadh Municipality is showcasing its commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of the capital’s residents and making Riyadh a global model for sustainable and prosperous urban regions. This includes enhancing the quality of life for its population and aligning efforts with Vision 2030’s goals.

By incorporating contemporary amenities like nurseries, sports fields, games for individuals with disabilities, exercise equipment, interactive areas, and bike lanes, the Municipality has adapted the parks’ layout to accommodate the demands of the local population. Additionally, it emphasises putting sustainability ideals into practice by including the community in park design, utilising locally-sourced materials and service buildings, and making parks more accessible.
