Dr. Yasmeen Jamal Rashidi, has been appointed dean of student affairs at Umm Al-Qura University as of August 2025.

Dr. Yasmeen Jamal Rashidi is an Assistant Professor in the Cybersecurity Department of Umm Al-Qura University’s College of Computing in Saudi Arabia, where she has worked since December 2021.

Yasmeen Rashidi’s Roles at Umm Al-Qura University

At Umm Al-Qura University, she has served in several capacities, including Dean of Student Services and Acting Dean of Student Affairs. In addition, she was the Vice Dean of Quality Assurance and University Development.

In addition, Yasmeen Jamal Rashidi served as a teaching assistant, an information systems professor, and the supervisor of the Alumni Unit at the Deanship of University Development.

Academic Qualifications

In 2021, she graduated from Indiana University Bloomington in the United States with a doctorate in information security. Additionally, she has a master’s degree in information security from DePaul University in the United States, which she earned in 2014. Rashidi graduated from Umm Al-Qura University in Saudi Arabia in 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

Rashidi attended the Deans of Student Affairs Committee at Saudi Universities’ 25th conference, Dr. Yasmeen Jamal Rashidi, has been appointed dean of student affairs at Umm Al-Qura University as of August 2025.which took place in Tabuk in November 2024. Dr. Yasmeen Rashidi emphasised in her speech the importance of the Deanship of Student Affairs in improving the student experience at Saudi universities.

She added that Umm Al-Qura University is dedicated to offering top-notch student services that assist its students in a range of academic subjects and extracurricular pursuits. Rashidi went on to say that the university is working hard to offer a holistic learning environment that would help students become leaders in a variety of professions.

In addition to organising events for students, their families, and staff, such as the “Winter” event in 2025, Dr. Rashidi was essential in improving the university’s student services. Students had access to a range of sporting and cultural events.

She also backed the university’s “White Coat” event, a worldwide programme designed to help students in health-related disciplines feel like they belong and be guided as they start their careers.

Consequently, Dr. Yasmeen Rashidi successfully managed student services and activities while combining academic achievement and strong leadership. She has established Umm Al-Qura University as a representation of growth and innovation in Saudi Arabia’s intellectual and educational sectors thanks to her global expertise and rise to leadership roles.
